Brushes

Brushes should be stored as follows:

• Remove as much paint from the brush as possible by brushing it out as much as possible.
• Water-based paints can be easily removed from the brush by rinsing it with water (please consider the environment and do not rinse water off into the sewer).
• Synthetic paints are not easy to remove from a brush. Use a putty knife to scrape off the outside of the brush thoroughly and place it back in the paint tin.
• Next, clean the brush with turpentine or brush cleaning agent and dry it with a dry cloth.
• Never store the brush resting on its bristles, but store it suspended or flat in a cool place.
• For short-term storage, wrap the brush in aluminium foil.
