Ashwood shovel handle, straight T handle in length 95 cm, with strong through-hilted hilt. A straight shovel handle is often used together with a stabbing bats.
These shovel handles are made from Ash rootstock, which contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbent and strong. Ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process, sawn Ash planks are air-dried. During the second process, the Ash wood is computer-controlled back-dried in a climate chamber. Due to the back-drying process, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle and the pierced hilt can be pressed to the handle without glue or staple.
Next, the handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful white colour. Waxing ensures a longer life and a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, vegetable waxing of stems is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
These shovel handles are manufactured entirely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and designs.
