Sustainability: close to home and worldwide
Hoenderop focuses on several aspects of sustainability. As a wholesaler of marine supplies, our primary focus is on the products we include in our range. However, we also want to contribute to reducing the ecological footprint of commercial shipping. That is why Hoenderop is in constant dialogue with its suppliers to jointly explore opportunities to reduce the footprint of production, packaging and transport. This enables us to include more and more environmentally friendly alternatives in our range, such as biodegradable cleaning products and products in cardboard or recycled packaging.
Diergaarde Blijdorp
Our bee colony
Closer to home, we are also committed to improving the environment. We have adopted three bee colonies, which are located on our premises behind the warehouse. Bees play a crucial role as pollinators for our food supply and biodiversity. With this contribution, we support sustainable agriculture and contribute to the preservation of our planet. With our support, the beekeeper can conduct research into a more future-proof bee breed. In the summer and autumn, we receive jars of honey from our bee colonies, which our representatives distribute during customer visits. Haven't received a jar yet? Feel free to ask for one!
