WD-40 Specialist Contact Spray is a non-conductive spray suitable for use on sensitive electrical components. It provides excellent cleaning and effortlessly removes dirt, dust, condensation and flux residues.
It penetrates quickly into hard-to-reach areas and dries rapidly without leaving any residue. Simply spray and allow the product to dry before switching the power back on.
Our Contact Spray is ideal for use on, for example, circuit boards, switches and spark plugs. It removes all dirt particles that could potentially cause leakage current.
In damp conditions, it can help dispel condensation for better and more efficient electrical contact, for example on spark plugs and electrical connections in cars.
It is safe to use on plastics, rubber and metal.
How do I use contact spray?
First, unplug all appliances from the mains to cut off the power supply and allow hot surfaces to cool down. Shake the contact cleaner before use and apply it directly to the surface to be treated, from a distance of 15 to 20 cm. This removes any residue that could interfere with the electrical contact. Tilt the surface whilst cleaning and allow any excess liquid to dry completely before restoring the power supply. To prevent accidental damage, always check the manufacturer’s instructions before applying the contact spray to the appliance. Do not spray the product into cavities, openings, crevices or parts of the device where there is insufficient airflow to promote complete evaporation. With the Smart Straw applicator, you have two ways to spray: both wide and precise. Flip the straw up for precision spraying and flip it down to treat larger surfaces. Whichever way you choose to spray, you can rely on the smart 360° valve, allowing you to spray both upright and upside down.
